The best roof terrace in Marrakech boasts views of the 12th century Koutoubia minaret, medina rooftops and alleyways, the High Atlas mountains, the Dar el Bacha Royal Palace, even La Mamounia hotel. It’s a great deal higher than its neighbours in the medina, hence the far-reaching vista.

The main square of the medina, the Jmaa el Fna, is within striking distance, audible at night as the atmosphere builds up, with music and crowds of people. The smoke from the charcoal grills on the square hangs in the air.

Yet, up on the roof, a chill-out tent, bar, loungers, and great music offer a more serene way to pass the time. You’re close enough to dip in-and-out of the medina action as little or often as you like. One of the best times to enjoy the roof – during breakfast. Underneath the roof terrace? A six-bedroom boutique riad, with spa, cookery school and fine-dining restaurant.

The roof terrace is a private space that only residents and restaurant diners are able to enjoy. If you’re passing through Marrakech and want a slice of luxury with lots of attention to detail this riad is for you, whether you’re staying overnight or visiting the spa/restaurant.
