A recent discovery in Marrakech, Riad Berbere, a five-bedroom medina guest-house. Restored by a Belgian architect, the Riad Berbere is a beautiful example of traditional craftsmanship and design, coupled with a fresh, modern finish and great service.
We particularly admire the large garden there, rather rare in riad guest-houses in the medina, and testament to the Arab-Andalus design; a small dipping pool is enclosed by citrus, olive and banana trees, which offer welcome relief from the sun.

The space and light is not restricted to the courtyard, but is also carried through all of the rooms and the duplex roof-terrace. Three of the bedrooms have their own terrace/balcony, the salon is vast with a stunning cedar wood ceiling (with hand-painted Berber motifs), and there is even a private hammam and massage room on the ground floor. More photos follow below.
The Riad Berbere really does offer a sanctuary within the walls of the Marrakech medina, yet is just a short walk from the souks and monuments.
