Day 1
Meet in Marrakech at 09:00 and begin crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass at 2,260 metres. Pass traditional adobe villages and green valleys before reaching Ouarzazate, and then the Dades region. Follow the Dades river through striking rock formations and ruined kasbahs to the dramatic Dades Gorge. Overnight in a traditional guest-house in the Dades Valley.
Day 2
Travel from the Dades Valley to the Draa Valley, stopping at Todra Gorge where you can stretch your legs beneath towering canyon walls. Continue across the volcanic landscapes of Jebel Saghro in the Anti-Atlas before joining the Draa River. Arrive in Agdz and stay among the palm groves in a traditional guest-house.
Day 3
Leave Agdz and travel south via Tamegroute and Mhamid El Ghizlane. After lunch, leave the tarmac behind and begin the desert approach to Erg Chigaga. Arrive during late afternoon and spend time exploring the dunes, camel trekking or relaxing. Watch sunset from a high dune before dinner, campfire music and an overnight desert camp stay.
Day 4
Rise early for sunrise over the dunes before breakfast. Depart camp and travel north-west across remote desert landscapes, passing Lake Iriqui’s vast dried salt flats and the ridges of Jebel Bani. Continue through Foum Zguid and Tazenakht before reaching Ait Ben Haddou in the Ounila Valley. Overnight in a restored kasbah guest-house near the UNESCO site.
Day 5
After breakfast, follow the scenic Ounila Valley road and visit the area around Telouet Kasbah. Re-cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass and descend towards Marrakech. Enjoy final mountain views before arriving back in Marrakech during the mid-afternoon, marking the end of your five-day private Morocco adventure.
